Note here, the rice totals are actually for the previous day's rice, but the rankings are for that day, when I get up in the morning. Why? Because I get more and more grains of rice throughout the day, and I don't want to have to re-figure my ranking every time I get more grains, so I simply do it the next morning. Writing is for the current day; I update it as I go, in part to see if I've made my goal yet.

In interpretation, this means that the numbers for today, Jan 10, 2013, mean that I earned 1020 grains of rice yesterday, bringing my total to 276,190. My rank was #2138, on page 178 of the rankings, when I woke up today. I have since earned more grains. Those will be recorded tomorrow morning. My word count for today is 21,687, meaning I haven't written anything today. (I typically don't for a while, I like to be awake.) But that will change, as I'm definitely planning to write today. I think.

So yeah, I barely kept up with rice. And utterly failed at writing. Why is this?

I offer you the best reason ever. A Memory of Light. I managed to get my hands on a copy of it (Pictured. Sideways view for size comparison with my hand.) around 3 Tuesday afternoon. I went to bed at a decent time Tuesday night, some 200 pages in. I intended to take it sort of easy the next two days, reading up to around page 617 on Wednesday, and then finishing it on Thursday. Yeah, that didn't happen I woke up at 6 and was reading by 7 AM on Wednesday. Around page 400, it started getting really interesting and tense. I took breaks to take a shower, and eat dinner. (I read through lunch and any other necessities, really.) I finished it around 11 PM. So yeah, 16 hours of straight reading later, I was done. DONE! Needless to say, I went to bed after that, mentally completely exhausted.

So yeah, I spent the past 2 days reading. This is why I don't get books during the school year. I will devour them. I've read the Hunger Games trilogy in a day before. Twice, I think. And I'll probably be doing it again, each time one of the movies comes out. I love reading. Absolutely love it.

Initial impressions on the book. Amazing. Beautiful. Horrific. Incredible. It is the book we've been waiting for and anticipating all these years. I don't know what do say or do. I guess I'll just keep living my life as I have been living it.

What will I get done today? Lots. I have my first math club meeting tomorrow, as well as a bunch of school stuff. I'm going to try to force myself to do my writing for today. It's going to be hard, though. Reading AMoL, I don't know if I can ever match that. No, I know I can't. So, what's the point? I'll figure something out, eventually.

If you haven't read the Wheel of Time series, now is your time. It's finally complete. And it is complete. The ending is big. Heck, the entire last book IS the ending. You will not be disappointed.
